  We have been customers of Scoggin's for many years, but would like to give a review of an especially superb meal we had last week. My wife and I both ordered the shrimp and grits, one of the monthly specials. First of all, the salad bar is one of the best you will find anywhere. Always fresh and a nice variety. The bread and butter appetizer is just amazing. Best of all though, was the entree. Wow! I can honestly say that the shrimp and grits at Scoggin's is much better than the shrimp and grits we have had at Hilton Head Island! The grits were cooked perfectly and tasted so incredibly good. The shrimp were huge, and the portion was so large, my wife took home half of it! As always, the presentation was beautiful. And the servers are so attentive and nice, they treat you like family and know you by name. If you have never tried shrimp and grits, you need not go any further than Scoggin's, you will be treated to a most exquisite and pleasant experience. We've never had a bad meal there. I haven't even mentioned the perfect steaks, pasta, and awesome fish! Worth the trip to Rutherfordton, just to go eat there. Five stars all the way!

  Awesome food and great service. The prime rib is amazing, seafood is awesome, and everything there is good. They have a full service bar and overall awesome food and atmosphere.

  Great food Great Price. This place is a great place to go but they just lack one thing. New booths. If you get seated and someone else is on the back side of your booth you get in to a shoving battle due to the lack of support between one side vs the other. They need new seats bad.

  Flounder was great! Service was friendly and helpful. Located in a town where it's very difficult to find a descent meal after 5pm, Scoggins definitely is a gem.
